Summer School Expectations
- Students cannot miss one full day of school, and need to inform the front office of any absences. If a student misses one full day of school he/she cannot earn credit for summer school class unless time and work is made up before summer school ends (before June 18th, 2019 with Admin Approval). Attendance will be taken in the morning and after lunch by the instructor on a sheet that will be provided by the AVHS attendance department.
- Three tardies = student cannot return to summer school and will not earn credit ( Unless Admin approves time to be made up before June 18th)*. Tardies after lunch are also counted!l!
- Students will have SEVEN bathroom passes to go to the restroom during the class times.
- Progress grades will be given to students at least two times before final grades are submitted. If a student is failing, parents/guardians will be notified by Front Office Staff or their Teacher.
- Final grade will be accessible June 28th on Student Course History found on the Student/Parent VUE portal.
- Student DRESS CODE. See attached copy.
- Misbehavior WILL NOT be tolerated. The teacher will be speaking to the student and asking student to correct his/her behavior. After the teacher has attempted to work with the student, and the student is not responding, he/she will be sent up to the office for disciplinary action . The student will be withdrawn from summer school*.
- The AVHS Electronics Policy applies during summer school. The FIRST time an electronic is SEEN and/or HEARD it will be taken from the student, and a parent/guardian will need to pick it up from the front office. The SECOND time it will be kept until the end of the summer school session. Refusal to surrender device will result in withdrawal from summer school*.
- Students can only have bottled water at their desks. ALL other food and drinks need to be kept in a designated spot in the classroom until class is over.
- Front office is open from 7am – 4pm (Monday-Friday).
