A strong partnership between the school and home is essential if a quality educational program is to be provided to all students. Alta Vista High School is dedicated to the philosophy that parent involvement is integral to the success of each student. For this reason, parents are actively recruited as our partners for success. If you would like to volunteer or help AVHS in anyway please call the school for more information on how to do so.
Parents' Right to Know
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) [Section 111 (h) (6)] gives parents the right to request and receive their child’s assessment data as well as the qualifications of their child’s classroom teachers in a timely manner and understandable format. Please contact the school principal to review this information.
Alta Vista High School requires its staff to represent our students and community with dignity, respect, and pride at all times. Parents are highly encouraged to do the same when visiting campus and at all school functions, events, and activities. Appropriate language, dress, communication, and support are expectations of all Alta Vista community members.
