Designs from Block 1.2
In Digital Design class, we make anything possible in the imagination become reality, through visual tools and online technologies. It's the perfect class to take during this time of quarantine, where we can really express ourselves to the world through this visual language: from pure graphic design for advertising and commerce, to digital drawings, to special effects and digital photography.
FINAL PROJECTS: ANIMATION!
For their final project, several students took their skills to the next level by animating their original pen tool drawings. All of the animations here were made from scratch, no borrowing, everything original. The animations, known as GIFs, consist of anything from 17 to 35 frames (different pictures). Isn't this cool?

In the third week of class, we worked with the Pen Tool in a Vector Graphics program. Students can create perfect circles that radiate precisely and equally in all directions. The Pen Tool allows for extremely smooth curves (parabolas and hyperbolas), and exactly precise 90 degree angles along the x and y axes, all determined by computer mathematics. Doesn't math look cool?
Text and lettering are an essential part of graphic design: they are what we use to communicate ideas in business and in everyday exchanges. We've been exploring what possibilities exist by placement of words on a page, that becomes, in essence, visual poetry. How can we inspire others, while re-inspiring ourselves?
