AVHS Part of Tucson Tradition

Once again Alta Vista High School is part of The Tucson Rodeo parade February 23rd, 2012 . This colorful, exciting Parade is presented each year and keeps the spirit of the first Parade back in 1925. Now known to be the largest Non-Motorized Parade in the country. Alta Vista students and staff came together to design and crate a float and will be part of the parade.

Alta Vista students attend an event at the University of Arizona planned by SHPE(Society of Hispanic Profession Engineers)/UA an organization focused on reaching out to minority students to encourage, guide, and motivate them to pursue careers in science and engineering-related fields. The students were placed in work shops that thought then about different fields of engineering and were able to ask a pane of professional engineers from IBM and Raython about their careers.
