College & Career Prep
Alta Vista High School and the Post Secondary Education Initiative (PSEI) Committee are dedicated to helping students continue their journey onto higher education and careers. The PSEI committee and the Student Services office provide students with information on colleges, trade schools and careers of their choice. This past school year we had the largest amount of students continuing their education and/or moving on to exciting careers. 83% of the graduating class were admitted and registered for the fall of 2010 at the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, Pima Community College, DeVry University, Apollo College, and Pima Medical Institute. Alta Vista and the PSEI Committee will be working diligently to have more students further their education and career choice in 2011. Below are some ways Alta Vista helps:
- College advisement
- College campus tours
- Financial Aid assistance
- Registration at respective colleges
- Assistance with scholarships
- Assistance with assessments (SAT/ACT/COMPASS)
- College skills workshops
- Career Assessments/Exploration
